b'18REMEMBERPersons appearing before the Tribunal must follow certain rules in thehearing room:ybe respectful, courteous and civil;ydress appropriately;yturn off cell phones and other electronic equipment before entering the hearing room;ystand and remain silent when the presiding member enters or exits the hearing room;yaddress everyone in attendance politely;ylisten carefully to the presiding members explanations;yavoid interrupting others;yaddress the presiding member directly, not the opposing party;yspeak clearly and loudly enough to be understood;ymake sure you understand questions before answering them;yremain calm and avoid arguing with the other party; and ydo not bring food or drink and do not chew gum in the hearing room.4.4Settlement The parties may also reach an agreement to settle. The Tribunal has the status of a court of record and has jurisdiction to render decisions consenting to a settlement agreement, even if not specifically provided for in its enabling legislation. 6The settlement agreement, signed by both parties, must be sent to the Tribunal.Such an agreement concludes the review process, and the Tribunal will render a decision confirming the settlement. 6See Atkinson v.
